Eyes of the Other: Queer and Indigenous Body Exhibtion

In the Eyes of the Other: The Queer and Indigenous Body is a deeply personal and political solo exhibition, featuring full-size nude oil paintings by the artist, a 2-Spirit, Indigenous, and queer individual.

This exhibition confronts the historically imposed gaze of the "other" on queer and Indigenous bodies, reclaiming autonomy, self-expression, and identity.

The artist challenges traditional perceptions and representations, subverting colonial, heteronormative, and gendered narratives that have shaped the visual and social landscape. The works explore the complexities of identity, inviting the audience to engage with the tensions between the observer and the observed, and reflect on their roles in perpetuating or resisting harmful perceptions.
